211006-N-EV253-1022 SAN DIEGO (Oct. 6, 2021) – Capt. William Eastham, president, Naval Helicopter Association (NHA), delivers opening remarks during an Aircrew competition held on Naval Air Station (NAS) North Island in Coronado, California, Oct. 6. The annually occurring competition was part of the Naval Helicopter Association Symposium, and 18 teams consisting of four Sailors each raced against one another to complete obstacle courses, simulated emergency rescue situations, a run/swim on Breaker’s Beach and other physical challenges. NHA was founded in 1971 and is incorporated in California as a nonprofit professional organization to promote the development and use of naval vertical lift aircraft in the United States Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard.
