Army Sgt. 1st Class Brian Ringrose, a Special Forces engineer representing U.S. Army Special Operations Command, and Sgt. 1st Class Joshua Newbury, a combat engineer representing U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, battle for first place in the 12-mile foot march of the Army Best Warrior Competition held at Fort Knox, Ky., Oct. 6, 2021. The best from the Army compete annually for the title of Best Warrior. Representing seven Geographic Commands and 22 Functional Commands, Soldiers spend the week competing in a variety of challenges including firing weapons, land navigation, the Army Combat Fitness Test, and various mystery events.
