U.S. Marine Corps Col. David Banning, commanding officer of Marine Rotational Force - Darwin, has his photo taken during an awards ceremony at Larrakeyah Defence Precinct, Darwin, NT, Australia, Oct. 11, 2021. Banning was awarded an Australian Defence Force Commendation - Gold for his leadership of MRF-D throughout both 2020 and 2021, and his relentless pursuit of enhancing bilateral interoperability between the two forces. The rotational deployment of U.S. Marines affords a combined training opportunity with Australia and improves cooperation and integration between the two countries’ forces.
