Dereck Wansing, left, Kansas City District employee and local government liaison; Maj. Chatom “CT” Warren, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District, deputy district commander; and Lt. Col. Paul Stambaugh, Louisville District project engineer, discuss Operation Blue Roof activities at an operations center in Houma, Louisiana, Oct. 4. To date, USACE has placed more than 14,000 blue roofs on houses impacted by the disaster. There are more than 36,000 homes that are eligible for a blue roof.
During his visit to Houma, Warren stopped by St. Johns and Assumption parishes to visit with their emergency management officials. He thanked them for their trust and for allowing the USACE team to work in their backyard.
“We’re still committed, and we’re going to see this through,” he said. “We will be here until the last person has a blue roof on their home.”
