SANTA RITA, Guam (Oct. 4, 2021) - Personnel from U.S. Naval Base Guam's
(NBG) Security Forces participated in a Counter-Small Unmanned Aircraft
System (C-sUAS) event and suspicious package training, as part of Citadel
    Pacific 2021, Oct. 4.

The exercise included role players, some acting as aggressors and victims,
while force protection teams simulated the appropriate security response.
The training involved a simulated response to a small unmanned aircraft
system or drone landing at one of NBG's piers. Upon encountering the drone,
security forces located the drone's operator. Personnel then conducted a
sweep of the suspect's vehicle using a military working dog and located a
    suspicious package.

The use of sUAS/drones is prohibited onboard NBG, unless explicit permission
has been granted by the installation commanding officer and the Federal
Aviation Administration (FAA). NBG NSF reserves the right to respond to
sUAS/drone activity in accordance with Title 10 United States Code 130i and
FAA regulations governing restricted airspace. Violators may be subject to
confiscation of the sUAS/drone, as well as administrative and criminal
penalties. For more information or if you see 'something, say something',
    contact 333-7326.

CP-21 is an annual opportunity for force protection teams to sharpen their
ability to protect personnel, assets and ensure the Navy remains ready to
defend against threats. CP-21 is not in response to any specific threat, but
is a regularly scheduled training exercise.

During CP-21, Security personnel will be trained on tactics, techniques and
procedures, and honing their skills to ensure they remain the premier
fighting force that defends our installations every day.
