    U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. William Zeigler, a combat engineer with 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, and Red Bank, South Carolina, native, sharpens a log in order to build a defensive obstacle during a jungle warfare exercise at Camp Gonsalves, Okinawa, Japan, Sep. 30, 2021. 9th ESB built defenses from environmental resources and integrated them around a simulated jungle village in order to defend against enemy infiltration or assault. 3d MLG, based out of Okinawa, Japan, is a forward deployed combat unit that serves as III MEF’s comprehensive logistics and combat service support backbone for operations throughout the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility.
