U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Chad Sluder, a bulk refueler with Energy Company, Combat Logistics Regiment (CLR) 3, 3rd Marine Logistics Group (MLG), checks a fuel pump while refueling an AH-1Z Viper helicopter assigned to Light Attack Helicopter Squadron (HMLA) 169, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing (deployed to Okinawa as part of the unit deployment program) during a forward arming and refueling point (FARP) in the Central Training Area, Okinawa, Japan, Sept. 22, 2021. This was the first time that Marines with Marine Air Control Squadron (MACS) 4 and CLR 3 conducted a FARP with no electronic footprint, demonstrating the ability to establish expeditionary advanced bases undetected.
