Capt. Will Watson, captain of the port and commander of U.S. Coast Guard Sector New Orleans, welcomes Vice Adm. Steven Poulin, commander of U.S. Coast Guard Atlantic Area, to an outreach and support meeting for Coast Guard members and their families impacted by Hurricane Ida at Coast Guard Sector New Orleans in New Orleans, Louisiana on Sept. 24, 2021. Many Coast Guard families living in southeast Louisiana have been displaced from their homes following Hurricane Ida’s landfall on Aug. 29, 2021. Vice Adm. Poulin, Rear Adm. Jon Hickey, U.S. Coast Guard Director of Operational Logistics, and Master Chief Petty Officer Devin R. Spencer, Command Master Chief of U.S. Coast Guard Atlantic Area, toured Coast Guard assets across New Orleans, Grand Isle, and Houma, meeting with members, civilian employees, and dependents at each stop on the tour.
