Sgt. Maj. of the Army Michael A. Grinston awards a coin Sept. 22, 2021, to Spc. Adrien Mbocwangoma, 19th Engineer Battalion, who finished in first place during the validation exercise of the mission scenarios that this year’s Department of the Army Best Warrior Competition competitors will be tested on here next month. The 19th Eng. Bn. runner up was 2nd Lt. Austin Kim. The VALEX was the last checkpoint before the BWC where 24 of the best Soldiers in the Army will compete to determine the best Soldier and Noncommissioned Officer.
