Members of the Polish Armed Forces display some of their armored vehicles at the Black Division Festival in Żagań, Poland, Sept. 11, 2021. The 11th Lubuska Armored Cavalry Division is also called the Black Division to commemorate Polish Gen. Stanislaw Maczek and his unit, known as the Black Brigade. Soldiers with the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team (1ABCT), 1st Infantry Division also attended the festival and displayed some of its equipment. The 1ABCT is currently deployed in Poland in support of Atlantic Resolve, which is funded by the European Deterrence Initiative, enabling the U.S. to enhance deterrence, increase readiness and support NATO.
