At the Idaho Fallen Firefighters Memorial Park, Special Forces Combat Veteran, Capt. Dan Nelson speaks to the Officer Candidates on the importance of leadership.
Idaho Army National Guard Officer Candidates along with instructors and staff from the 204th Regional Training Institute commemorated 9/11 this past week with a nine-mile ruck march through the City of Boise along a portion of the 30-mile Boise Greenbelt Trail system. The popular Greenbelt Trail system meanders along both shorelines of the Boise River that flows through central Boise and connects the city’s riverside parks with neighboring municipalities.
OCS candidates carried a 35 lb ruck and a replica weapon commonly referred to as a “rubber duck” as they marched to the end of their course at Julia Davis Park in Boise. Following the March, candidates and staff travelled a short distance to the Idaho Fallen Firefighters Memorial Park where they listened to Special Forces Veteran Dan Nelson speak on the qualities of leadership.
