A U.S. Army soldier in camouflage uniform is being interviewed by a reporter holding a microphone labeled 'Jambalaya' during what appears to be a post-disaster relief operation. In the background, workers in high-visibility vests are installing a blue tarp on a damaged roof, while a camera operator records the interview. All visible individuals are wearing face masks, suggesting this occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic era.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is working in partnership with the local, state, and federal response to Hurricane Ida. FEMA has assigned the USACE the Temporary Roofing mission known as Operation Blue Roof. The mission requires Quality Assurance Inspectors who are being trained at the Mobile District Readiness Support Center Mobile, Ala. The QAs role in the mission is to do assessments of roofs that were damaged by Hurricane Ida. To learn more about Operation Blue Roof and to apply visit: Blueroof.us OR call 888-ROOF-BLU (888-766-3258). 25 Parishes total are eligible for Operation Blue Roof. Photo by Brigida Sanchez
