U.S. Army Spc. Corey Randolph, a Roswell, Ga., native assigned to the 1st Sustainment Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, counts Afghans departing by bus at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), Pa., on Sept. 10, 2021. 1st Sustainment Brigade is providing coordination and sustainment support at PHL. The Department of Defense, through U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the Department of Homeland Security, is providing transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support for at least 50,000 Afghan evacuees at suitable facilities, in permanent or temporary structures, as quickly as possible.
