LANCASTER SOUND (AUGUST 23, 2021) Sailor First Class Steve Vallieres and Sailor Second Class Mohamed Kaseem prepare to deploy a towable sonar array from HMCS HARRY DEWOLF. The towable array is being used by Defense Research and Development Canada scientists to collect hydrographic data during HARRY DEWOLF’s Arctic transit. HARRY DEWOLF departed Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, on August 3 for its maiden deployment. The crew is conducting a circumnavigation of North America through the Arctic in order to demonstrate the capabilities of the new vessel, promote interoperability, foster positive relationships with local communities, and establish a more resolute presence in the Northern Region.
