210904-N-RO680-1002 PACIFIC OCEAN (Sept. 4, 2021) Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Jake Kubil, a native of Lafayette, Louisiana, prepares a walking blood bank donation kit aboard Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70), Sept. 4, 2021. During a walking blood bank, fresh blood is drawn from a pre-tested donor pool for immediate use in the event of a bleeding casualty. Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group is on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners while serving as a ready-response force in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
