U.S. Marine Corps Recruit James E. Edillor, a recruit with Alpha Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, executes a counter to muzzle grab during the company’s Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP) test at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, Aug. 26, 2021. MCMAP consists of three components: mental discipline, character discipline, and physical discipline. Each discipline is divided into blocks and presented systematically to Marines at each belt level, starting with tan.
