FORT HOOD, TX--The 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, “Black Jack”, held an observation for the brigade’s 104th birthday, Aug. 27, 2021, on Black Jack Field, Fort Hood, TX.
Although the observation was a celebration of the history and accomplishments of the brigade, Colonel Ian Palmer, "Black Jack" commander, took time to acknowledge the recent tragedy in the Middle East.
“While we are taking today to celebrate our history, we should not forget that there are still US service members in harm’s way,” COL Palmer said. “Let yesterday’s events be a stark reminder that our history, which should be celebrated, does not relieve us of our responsibility to never stop looking ahead.”
