Task Force McGuire-Dix Airmen cordon off an area that will be used for temporarily housing Afghan citizens in support of Department of State-led Operation Allies Refuge at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey, Aug. 22, 2021. The Department of Defense, in support of the Department of State, is providing transportation and temporary housing in support of Operation Allies Refuge. This initiative follows through on America's commitment to Afghan citizens who have helped the United States, and provides them essential support at secure locations outside Afghanistan.
