U.S. Marines drive a Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement (MVTR) and Joint Light Tactical Vehicle during a night driving course on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Aug. 17, 2021. During the course, Marines conducted black-out driving which allows for the tactical movements of vehicles to remain concealed in darkness. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Expeditionary Strike Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
