Soldiers from the 1st Cavalry Division’s Horse Cavalry Detachment participate in a weekly demonstration held on Fort Hood. The Horse Cavalry Detachment was designated by the Department of the Army as a special ceremonial unit in 1972 and is currently the largest active duty mounted cavalry unit in the Army.
