Sgt. 1st Class Kristina Boettcher, a combat medic specialist from the 7306th Medical Exercise Support Battalion in San Antonio, Texas, describes the simulated injuries her animatronic military working dog suffered to a Soldier with the 18th Field Hospital during a training scenario at Global Medic in Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, Aug. 11, 2021. Boettcher is serving as the noncommissioned officer-in-charge of the Medical Readiness Training Command Effects and Enablers Team, which simulates combat injuries on mannequins and role-players to create realistic training scenarios. The Medical Readiness and Training Command executes Global Medic as part of the U.S. Army Reserve Medical Command's larger mission to provide trained, equipped, and combat ready units and medical personnel which are ready now to support the total force on the battlefields of today and tomorrow.
