    NMCB 11 Constructs Prototype Helicopter Landing Zone

    210726-N-MO469-1004 SANTA RITA, Guam (Jul. 26, 2021) Seabees assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 11 Det. Guam operate a Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement MK28C to fill a bladder for a chemical treatment mixture while supporting III MEF to establish a prototype Landing Zone using a biocement application system developed by bioMASON with support from Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. The biocement application system is designed to be used in forward operating positions on native, non-engineered surfaces to strengthen soil, promote erosion control, and increase dust abatement enhancing expeditionary advanced base operations with improved expeditionary landing zones. NMCB 11 Det. Guam is forward-deployed to execute construction, humanitarian assistance, theater security cooperation, and support Major Combat Operations in the U.S. 7th Fleet areas of operation.
