A combat moulage instructor from the Army Reserve's Medical Readiness and Training Command teaches students how to apply combat moulage wound make-up to live-action role players during Global Medic at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, Aug. 10, 2021. Members of the MRTC's effects and enablers cell are able to simulate the wide range of medical conditions seen in combat, such as open shrapnel wounds and burns to simple illnesses, using the same makeup and techniques that Hollywood films utilize. Throughout the 15-day field exercise, the Soldiers will apply simulated wounds to the live-action role players and mannequins that are part of combat scenarios CSTX exercised at CSTX to ensures realistic casualty simulations challenge the medical teams participating in the training. Global Medic is part of CSTX 78-21-04 which is a Combat Support Training Exercise that ensures U.S. Army Reserve units and Soldiers are trained and ready to deploy and bring capable combat-ready, and ready-now units in support of the Army and our joint partners anywhere in the world.
