Sailors from deck department aboard amphibious dock landing ship USS Tortuga (LSD 46) help Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit transport cargo from a 7-ton armored truck to the pier. The 31st MEU is transporting cargo to begin the Amphibious Landing Exercise in the Philippines. Tortuga, commanded by Cmdr. John Barnett, is part of the only forward-deployed amphibious ready group and is currently operating in the 7th Fleet Area of Responsibility.
