A C-5M Super Galaxy is parked on the flight line during sunrise July 28, 2021, at Travis Air Force Base, California. As the Air Force’s largest strategic airlifter, the C-5M can carry more cargo farther distances than any other aircraft. The C-5M Super Galaxy strategic transport aircraft, a modernized version of the legacy C-5, was designed and manufactured by Lockheed Martin to extend the capability of the C-5 Galaxy fleet to remain in service at least until 2040.
