173rd Airborne Brigade

A U.S. Army paratrooper assigned to the 173rd Airborne Brigade scans the drop zone before jumping out of the U.S. Air Force C-130 “Hercules” for an airborne exercise into Juliet Drop Zone, Pordenone, Italy, July 21, 2021. This exercise tested the paratrooper’s skills, techniques and procedures to gain confidence in their equipment.
 
The 173rd Airborne Brigade is the U.S. Army’s Contingency Response Force in Europe, providing rapidly deployable forces to the United States European, Africa and Central Command areas of responsibility. Forward deployable across Italy and Germany, the brigade routinely trains alongside NATO allies and partners to build partnerships and strengthen the alliance.
