Command Sgt. Maj. Luis Rivera, 23rd Chemical Battalion, approaches the finish line wearing a protective mask he wore for 13 miles at the Race for a Soldier, a run and fundraiser for the Permission to Start Dreaming foundation. Over 1,400 participants had pre-registered for the Sept. 27 events, which also include a two-mile run. The annual Race for a Soldier, now in its second year, benefits organizations that offer treatment for veterans suffering post traumatic stress disorder.
