    210716-N-KB401-1007 JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM (July 16, 2021) -- Rear Adm. Jeff Jablon, commander, Submarine Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, and Cmdr. Robert Walls, commanding officer, Submarine Readiness Squadron 33, prepare to cut the ribbon to signify the command name change. Naval Submarine Support Centers Groton, Connecticut; Kings Bay, Georgia; Bangor, Washington; and Pearl Harbor, Hawai'i changed their names to Submarine Readiness Squadrons, July 15. The name change is in alignment with the submarine community's mission to generate combat ready submarines to meet mission tasking and generation for the combatant commanders by supporting operations submarines, new submarine construction, and addressing and maintaining the operational fleet needs during Chief of Naval Operations maintenance availabilities.
