JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. – Special Forces Scholarship Fund recipients are photographed holding their awards during a ceremony held at the 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) Regimental Mess Facility, June 25, 2021. Twenty-three individuals were awarded merit-based scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,500 to assist with expenses for the upcoming academic year. The foundation responsible for handling the academic scholarships is the Special Forces Scholarship Fund – a charitable, nonprofit group that recognizes both active-duty and retired 1st SFG (A) Soldiers and their Families by awarding scholarships to dependents pursuing a postsecondary or vocational education. Cohosted by 1st SFG (A) Commander Col. Ryan R.
