Turkish Air Force Brig. Gen. Gürel Özusta (right), 10th Tanker Base commander, greets U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Randall Reed (left), Third Air Force commander, at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey, June 30, 2021. Reed traveled to Incirlik to preside over the 39th Air Base Wing change of command ceremony, during which Col. Jason Gingrich replaced Col. John Creel as 39th ABW commander. While there, Reed met with Airmen to learn about their skills and how they support Third AF, U.S. Air Forces in Europe and U.S. European Command. Third Air Force issues directives to subordinate commands and takes action on behalf of the USAFE-Air Forces Africa commander as directed. The command takes deliberate actions to develop Airmen and their families; confronts global challenges in support of the National Defense Strategy to defend our country and our allies; and utilizes dedicated efforts to deliver peace to our nation and its allies by fostering stability and deterring aggression throughout Europe and Africa.
