Army Col. Ryan P. O’Connell, Brigade Commander of the 196th Infantry Brigade, passes the company guidon to Capt. Grant Jeffries, the incoming company commander for Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 196th Infantry Brigade, during a change of command ceremony on Fort Shafter, Hawaii, Jun. 24, 2021. The change of command was part of the brigade's centennial celebration commemorating 100 years of service. The 196th Infantry Brigade provides pre-mobilization, post-mobilization and demobilization support to Army reserve component units in Alaska, American Samoa, Arizona, the Commonwealth of Mariana Islands (CNMI), Guam, the Hawaiian Islands, Japan and the Republic of Korea.
