SAN DIEGO (June 22, 2021) Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Robert Erxleben, a Sailor assigned to Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command (NMRTC) San Diego (left), receives a DAISY Award for Extraordinary Corpsman from Capt. Kim Davis, NMRTC San Diego’s commanding officer (right), during a ceremony at the hospital June 22. For the first time at NMRTC San Diego, all DAISY Award nominations and recipients consisted of hospital corpsman. NMCSD's mission is to prepare service members to deploy in support of operational forces, deliver high quality healthcare services and shape the future of military medicine through education, training and research. NMCSD employs more than 6,000 active duty military personnel, civilians, and contractors in Southern California to provide patients with world-class care anytime, anywhere.
