Staff Sgt. Thomas J. Schmenk, along with Spc. Jimmy D. Dunlap and Spc. Joseph C. Mazzella, all with communications section, Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 17th Fires Brigade, connect an armored truck containing the Command Post Platform to systems inside a tactical operating center to establish connectivity between themselves and other units during Operation Rising Thunder at Yakima Training Center here Sept. 14, 2012. Soldiers with HHB, 17th FiB are participating in Operation Rising Thunder to hone their war fighting skills and strengthen their partnership with other units and allies.
