U.S. Army Sgt. Maj. Moussa Doukoure, assigned to U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa, performs the leg-tuck while participating in the Sgt. Maj. of the Army Michael Grinston’s Army Birthday Challenge during African Lion 2021, June 13th, 2021, in Agadir, Morocco. Soldiers are challenged to perform 246 repetitions of the air squat and leg-tuck in celebration of the U.S. Army’s formation 246 years ago. African Lion is U.S. Africa Command’s largest, premier, Joint, annual exercise hosted by Morocco, Tunisia and Senegal, 7-18 June. More than 7,000 participants from nine nations and NATO train together with a focus on enhancing readiness for U.S. and partner nation forces. AL21 is a multidomain, multi-component, and multi-national exercise, which employs a full array of mission capabilities with the goal to strengthen interoperability among participants.
