Paul Herrera, a weapons and tactics instructor with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 163 and an El Paso, Texas, native, fires a GAU-16/ A Cal. 50 Machine Gun from an MV-22B Osprey while conducting initial tail-gun training aboard the Yuma Range Training Complex east of Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., Sept. 18. Crew chiefs need to qualify on this weapon before they can move on with more advanced live-fire training.
