A military ceremony appears to be taking place outdoors, with a soldier wearing a US Army patch (82nd Airborne Division insignia visible) pinning something onto the chest of a soldier wearing a maroon beret. Both individuals and the assembled troops in the background are wearing blue surgical face masks, suggesting this occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic period. A formation of soldiers wearing maroon berets and MultiCam/MTP camouflage uniforms stands in the background.

    173rd Airborne Brigade

Paratroopers with the 173rd Airborne Brigade and Charlie (Bruneval) Company, 2 PARA (British Army) perform a wing exchange after successfully completing an airborne operation at Juliet Drop Zone, June 3, 2021.
This jump wing exchange fosters esprit de corps amongst both U.S. and British paratroopers giving them the opportunity to wear another military's award on their uniforms.

The 173rd Airborne Brigade is the U.S. Army’s Contingency Response Force in Europe, providing rapidly deployable forces to the United States European, Africa and Central Command areas of responsibility. Forward deployable across Italy and Germany, the brigade routinely trains alongside NATO allies and partners to build partnerships and strengthened the alliance.
