Marines with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 211 land F-35B Lightning II's aboard Her Majesty’s Ship Queen Elizabeth after completing a mission in support of NATO Exercise Steadfast Defender 21. Steadfast Defender 21 is a large scale defensive exercise designed to test NATO’s ability to rapidly deploy forces from North America to the coast of Portugal and the Black Sea region. The exercise provides an important opportunity to demonstrate NATO’s ability and determination to defend its territory and alliance interoperability and coherence.
