Capt. Christopher Meza (far right), Task Force Oceania ‘s Pacific Augmentation Team officer-in-charge interacts with the people of Goroka in the Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea. Task Force Oceania builds trust by implementing a task force composed and tailored specifically for the region. The task force consists of a headquarters and 2-Soldier teams comprised of Soldiers from all components; Active Duty, Army Reserve and National Guard. These civil affairs teams deploy to various Pacific island countries and provide continuous support throughout Oceania with a primary mission to assist the State Department in the planning and execution of both military and civilian engagements throughout the region.
