Mr Mohamed Kamara from the Bronx, NY, received the 25,000th 2nd dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine by New York Army National Guard Private First Class (Pfc) Hilaire Kafando, a 68W (Medic) assigned to the 1-69th, HSC Co, administered at the Baychester (Bronx) vaccine point of distribution (POD) site on May 12th, 2021, 53 days after the Baychester pod was stood up. This marks the 25,000 second dose vaccine administered at the Baychester site which is supported by about 40 service members from New York Military Forces. The New York State Department of Health vaccination efforts for New York residents began March 19, 2021 at the Baychester POD. Over 3,180 members of the New York Army and Air National Guard, the New York Naval Militia and the New York Guard are supporting the multi-agency response to COVID-19 at 24 vaccination sites and other locations across New York.
