The USACE Vicksburg District's Dredge Jadwin prepares to depart the Vicksburg Harbor prior to the 2021 dredging season. The dredge's dustpan-shaped appendage allows it to clear a path through the sediment at bottom of the Mississippi River. The sediment is then pumped through the dredge and its pipeline and deposited in swift water to continue down river.
