ARABIAN SEA (April 28, 2021) – Gas Turbine Systems Technician (Mechanical) 3rd Class Jason Bird, left, and Electronics Technician 2nd Class Juan Maldonado, both assigned to guided-missile destroyer USS Laboon (DDG 58), observe as a MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter, attached to the “Swamp Foxes” of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 74, takes off during flight operations in the Arabian Sea, April 28. Laboon is supporting the IKE Carrier Strike Group while deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area and conducting naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
