210424-N-WQ732-4204 ARABIAN SEA (April 24, 2021) - Captain Joseph Baggett, commanding officer of guided-missile cruiser USS Monterey (CG 61), scans the horizon as the ship operates in formation with the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69), center, and guided-missile destroyer USS Thomas Hudner (DDG 116) in the Arabian Sea, April 24. Monterey is supporting the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group while deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations and conducting naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
