Airman 1st Class Ashley Linney delivers a speech on the Firefighter’s Maltese Cross during a 9/11 remembrance ceremony at the Wings of Hope Chapel, Sept. 10, 2012, Transit Center at Manas, Kyrgyzstan. Linney is a 376th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron firefighter who is deployed from the 177th Fighter Wing, Atlantic City and is a native of Little Egg Harbor, N.J. Linney spoke about the eight points on the cross which represents the symbol for all firefighters: honor, charity, loyalty, chivalry, gallantry, generosity, protection and dexterity and how Chief Peter Ganci Jr. embodied all of these traits on Sept. 11, 2001.
