Avery Tobar, Headquarters and Headquarters Command, 505th Military Intelligence Brigade, was named the runner up to the MIRC Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year during an awards ceremony at Joint Base San Antonio – Camp Bullis April 23, 2021, following the conclusion of the MIRC Best Warrior Competition (BWC). During the MIRC BWC Soldiers spend a week competing in a variety of events intended to test their capabilities and combat-readiness, as well as help determine which Soldier will be named the MIRC Best Warrior.
