U.S. Army Spc. Dunte Black, a combat medic assigned to 62nd Medical Brigade (MED BDE), describes the COVID-19 vaccination record card and what the timeframe is for their second shot, at the Yakima Community Vaccination Center (CVC), Yakima, Washington, April 19, 2021. Soldiers assigned to 62nd MED BDE deployed from Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, in support of the continued Department of Defense COVID response operations to help communities in need. Staffing at each center varies, including local, state, and federal personnel. Currently there are 149 federal staff supporting on site for this CVC from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Department of Defense, and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing continued, flexible Department of Defense support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency as part of the whole-of-government response to COVID-19.
