A Japanese landing craft air cushion prepares to enter the well deck of dock landing ship USS Tortuga (LSD 46) during ANNUAL-EX, a well deck exercise with the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force in the vicinity of Sasebo, Japan. Tortuga serves under Commander, Expeditionary Strike Group 7/Task Force 76, the Navy's only permanently forward-deployed amphibious force.
