Lt. Gen. Terry Ferrell, U.S. Army Central commanding general, signs the 2021 Sexual Assault Awareness & Prevention Month Proclamation in front of Patton Hall on Apr. 6, 2021. Ferrell signed the proclamation as an affirmation of their commitment to eliminating sexual assault, sexual harassment, and associated retaliation within the Army's ranks.
During Sexual Assault & Prevention Month, or SAPM, the Army Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Program reinforces every member of the Army team's responsibility to prevent sexual assault, sexual harassment, and associated retaliation, while ensuring professional, compassionate care and support if these incidents occur. Eliminating sexual misconduct ensures the dignity and respect of members of the Army team, promotes cohesion, and ensures the readiness of Army formations.
