U.S. Army Spc. Brian Lash, a native of Steubenville, Ohio, and ammunitions specialist with 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), is one of the first faces the community members see when they arrive to the Wolstein Community Vaccination Center in Cleveland. Normally working at an ammo supply point or supporting other units at the ranges, Lash enjoys getting to see the fruits of the Soldier’s labor here at the CVC. “I get to see everyone’s reaction right after they get their vaccine,” Lash said. “Being from Ohio, it makes me proud to see the impact this is having in my home state.” Lash, who joined the Army as part of his patriotic duty, said his work here is something he won’t forget. “This is the most memorable thing I have done so far in the Army,” he said. “Getting vaccines to people changes their lives and being able to witness that is something I will never forget.” U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing continued, flexible Department of Defense support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency as part of the whole-of-government response to COVID-19.
