Bass during an immersion tour at the 601st AOC at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida, March 29, 2021. Bass spent a portion of her morning visiting with members of 1st Air Force and the 601st AOC learning about their vital air defense mission supporting the North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command. The 601st AOC plans, directs, and assesses air and space operations for NORAD and USNORTHCOM. Manning for the AOC primarily comes from the Florida Air National Guard’s 101st AOG.
