Georgia National Guard Soldiers Staff Sgt. Chris Hill and Staff Sgt. Mark Morrison established voice and data communications in the early morning hours Wednesday for the 78th Homeland Response Force as part of exercise Vigilant Guard. Vigilant Guard is an exercise program sponsored by United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) in conjunction with the National Guard Bureau to provide Guard forces an opportunity to improve cooperation and relationships with their regional civilian, military and federal partners in preperation for emergencies and catastrophic events.
